WIN Launches 2014 Annual Fund Campaign

Adopt a House-Make a Home

WIN has protected over $129,672,000 in assets for Greater Cincinnati. It impacts all of us. At the end of 2013, WIN saved 1,471 homes from foreclosure. It’s not over. WIN assisted over 9,154 low and moderate-income families in the purchase of their first home. Our work is not finished. WIN developed 160 homes for first-time homeowners. We have more houses to build. WIN has a success rate of 95% in homeowner retention. This is important. Over 65% of our homes were sold to single mothers with children. This is powerful. Adopt A House

Adopt a House – Make a Home is your invitation to join with Working In Neighborhoods – We are not one house – one family, we are house by house, street by street, transforming neighborhoods. Your gift can make the home secure with a door, lights to warm the home, smoke alarms to watch over the family, or perhaps a mailbox to make it their own. If we all walk together, we can build the framework brick by brick, and raise the roof transforming houses into homes. In 2014, WIN’s goal is to raise $313,900 during our Adopt a HouseMake a Home Annual Campaign. We need your support more than ever. You will make a difference in the lives of so many and help Make a Home.

Building Strong, Stable Communities From the Ground Up for 35 Years

For the past 35 years, WIN has set out to develop a comprehensive, sustainable method to address home ownership and family stability. We work with residents to target strategic areas that will benefit from development. We transform vacant buildings into homes by renovating and rebuilding. We empower residents to become leaders who can advocate on behalf of their communities. And we strengthen families and neighborhoods by providing the tools needed to achieve economic self-sufficiency, allowing residents to invest in the future of their families and their community as homeowners.

Watch the Transformation: 1301 Cedar Ave

WIN transforms vacant properties into beautiful homes for first-time homebuyers. We’ve documented the transformation of one of our rehabs at 1301 Cedar Avenue. We started work in the summer of 2013. This home is part of a broader community development project in College Hill to stabilize Cedar Avenue, upgrade housing and provide opportunities to new, first-time home-buyers. We’re pretty excited with how everything has come together. This College Hill house is on the market and ready to become home for a first-time homebuyer.  Check out this and other WIN homes here.
