Preparing for Homeownership is a big step and may feel very overwhelming at first; there are many decisions to make before purchasing a home. Working In Neighborhoods’ free training and counseling can help you prepare for this important investment.
Working In Neighborhoods offers free classes to prepare potential first-time homebuyers on how to purchase a home wisely and enjoy the long-term benefits of owning a home. Topics include: shopping for a home, how to choose a lender and a mortgage that’s right for you, the role of a realtor and the importance of getting a home inspection. Working In Neighborhoods experienced staff also provides training in money management, goal setting, and how to reduce the cost of utility bills. The Working In Neighborhoods staff explains how credit scores affect your ability to get a good interest rate and homeowner’s insurance.
Nine hours of class time is required to receive the Homebuyer Certificate. Continental Breakfast will be served at all Saturday classes and lunch will be provided at the all-day Saturday classes.
